SUDOKU: THE RULES OF THE GAME

Grid specifications:

Each grid contains:
C square subdivisions of C squares each
C columns of C squares each
C rows of C squares each
C = 9 for the 9×9-grids, C = 16 for the 16×16-grids, C = 25 for the 25×25-grids and C = 36 for the 36×36-grids.

Rules of padding for the 9×9-grids:

To fill the 9×9 puzzle, it’s necessary to respect the following rules: each of the nine 3×3 square subdivisions, each of the 9 rows and each of the 9 columns of the puzzle must contain all the 9 numerals from 1 to 9.

One advise, always start your padding by the square subdivision, the row or the column that contain the higher number of characters, and so on for the next stage.

Rules of padding for the 16×16-grids:

To fill the 16×16 puzzle, it’s necessary to respect the following rules: each of the sixteen 4×4 square subdivisions, each of the 16 rows and each of the 16 columns of the puzzle must contain all the whole hexadecimal characters (0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,A,B,C,D,E,F).

One advise, always start your padding by the square subdivision, the row or the column that contain the higher number of characters, and so on for the next stage.

Rules of padding for the 25×25-grids:

To fill the 25×25 puzzle, it’s necessary to respect the following rules: each of the twenty-five 5×5 square subdivisions, each of the 25 rows and each of the 25 columns of the puzzle must contain all the whole alphabetic characters but one which will be indicated in the problem’s terms.

One advise, always start your padding by the square subdivision, the row or the column that contain the higher number of characters, and so on for the next stage.

Rules of padding for the 36×36-grids:

To fill the 36×36 puzzle, it’s necessary to respect the following rules: each of the twenty-five 6×6 square subdivisions, each of the 36 rows and each of the 36 columns of the puzzle must contain the whole numerals from 0 to 9 and the whole alphabetic characters.

One advice, always start your padding by the square subdivision, the row or the column that contains the higher number of characters, and so on for the next stage.

In other respects, we have decided deliberately not to publish solutions for our puzzles. If you follow our method you must lead to the only solution that suits to the problem and you will enjoy finding it. Anyway, life itself doesn’t give solutions to the problems it puts to you, so we let you working methodically to find the only solution that exists.
